About this collection
What to know before you choose
Every plant in this collection is on the ASPCA's list of plants that are non-toxic to cats and dogs. That makes it a sensible shortlist if you share your home with pets, but "non-toxic" is not the same as "fine to eat": chewing any plant can still upset a pet's stomach, and anything sprayed or fed onto the leaves brings its own risks.
Keep plants out of reach of pets that like to chew, and call your vet if your pet eats a plant and seems unwell. Each plant profile shows its ASPCA status, and the pet safety checker lets you look up any plant on the site by name.
How we picked
Only plants the ASPCA lists as non-toxic to both cats and dogs.
