Four ways to make more plants
Propagation means growing a new plant from part of an existing one. The main methods are stem cuttings rooted in water or soil, leaf cuttings, division of a plant that has formed several crowns or offsets, and air layering, where roots form on a stem while it is still attached to the parent plant.
Which method works depends on the plant. Pothos roots easily from stem cuttings in water, snake plant can be divided or grown from leaf cuttings, and fiddle leaf fig and rubber plant can be air layered. Spring and early summer, when plants are actively growing, are usually the best time to try. If you are new to it, start with the basics.
