Our story
How it started
It started the way it always does: with a dying Fiddle Leaf Fig and a frantic Google search at 11pm.
Every result was either a 3,000-word academic paper about soil pH or a TikTok telling us to "just vibe with your plant." Neither helped. We needed something in between: practical, honest, and actually useful.
So we built Plant Care Club. Not another plant encyclopedia. Not another subscription app that locks watering reminders behind a paywall. Just a free, well-designed resource where you can learn to keep your plants alive, and maybe even enjoy the process.
What we stand for
Three promises, no fine print
No nonsense advice
We don't copy-paste from Wikipedia. We check sources, simplify and explain.
Always free
9 interactive tools, 75 plant profiles and an editorial Q&A. No paywalls, no premium tiers, no "upgrade to unlock."
Honest about affiliate links
Some links earn us a small commission. It never decides what we recommend. Read our affiliate disclosure.
Our approach
Not the biggest, the most useful
We're not trying to be the biggest plant website on the internet. We're trying to be the most useful one. That means:
-
Depth over breadth
We'd rather have fewer, genuinely good plant guides than hundreds of mediocre ones.
-
Tools over text
Why read about watering schedules when you can calculate yours in 30 seconds?
-
Answers over arguments
Our editorial Q&A collects common plant care questions, answered by the Plant Care Club editors. Signed-in readers can ask a question or add an answer.
-
Honesty over hype
If a plant is hard to keep alive, we'll tell you. If a product isn't worth it, we won't list it.
In plain words
What Plant Care Club is — and isn't
Read how we write and correct articles in our editorial policy, and how product links work in our affiliate disclosure.
It is
A free, independent, plain-language houseplant care site at plantcareclub.com: plant profiles, step-by-step guides, troubleshooting articles and free tools, written by the Plant Care Club editorial team.
Some product links are Amazon affiliate links. Sponsored content may appear and is always labelled.
It isn't
- A shop or nursery: nothing is sold here.
- A product-testing lab: product guides are based on specifications and care needs, not hands-on tests.
- A vet or medical service: pet-safety labels follow the ASPCA list. Ask a vet if a pet eats a plant.
- A user community or forum: the Q&A is editorial.
- plantcare.club, which is an unrelated website.
