About this collection
What to know before you choose
Office plants often have a harder time than plants at home: the light may come from ceiling lights more than a window, heating or air conditioning dries the air, and nobody waters them over a long weekend.
The plants here are rated beginner or intermediate in their care profiles, and most of them cope with low or medium light. Plants that store water, such as ZZ plant (in its rhizomes), snake plant (in its leaves) and ponytail palm (in its trunk), are the safest choice if watering is irregular. Check the soil before you water rather than watering on a fixed day of the week.
How we picked
Plants rated beginner or intermediate in their care profiles, most of them listed for low or medium light; a few sun-lovers such as yucca and ponytail palm are here for desks by a bright window.
