About this collection
What to know before you choose
Bathrooms are usually more humid than the rest of the home, which suits plants that like moist air, such as ferns, calatheas and anthuriums. Humidity is not enough on its own, though: a plant still needs light, so a bathroom with a window is a far better home than a windowless one.
Steam from a shower helps, but the air dries out again in between, so do not skip watering just because the room feels damp. Keep plants where they will not be splashed with soap or sit in a cold draught from an open window. In a bathroom without a window, a grow light, or swapping the plant with one from a brighter room every few weeks, is the realistic option.
How we picked
Plants whose care profiles list high humidity as their preference.
